I remember seeing an old photo of Gilly on Facebook. It was taken in 1987 and shows Gilly as a Wren meeting Princess Anne. I asked her if she spoke to her and she said the Princess had asked her what she was doing in that office. As Gilly had been told to come to that room (not her usual work place), she replied 'I'm fucked if I know....!' She was always blunt and to the point and that's what I loved about her. She was a good friend and colleague and she made me smile. XXX
